在平城京迁都后1300年的2010年，“大阪电视台”在继《圣德太子》《大化改新》后，制作了第三部古代史电视剧-《大佛开眼》 8世纪，大佛的建立是一项巨大的工程，在这个由被派遣到大陆的遣唐使们传来的思想和价值观作为天平文化而华丽的展开的时代，一个叫作“日本”的国家开始逐步形成建立起来。但是，在那背后，却有着支持着天皇的贵族间的政治斗争，以及不堪重税和被饥饿威胁的穷困的平民生活。在这个混乱的时代，人们会建一个怎样的国家，以及，人民会为了什么去建造一个这样的大佛。 在电视剧中，有从唐归国后以建造一个理想之国为志，忧虑，以及前进的天才-吉备真备，以及一直看着命令建立大佛的父亲-圣武天皇的背影的阿倍内亲王（后来的孝谦天皇），还有在此作为二人之间最大的敌对而展开夺术争权的藤原仲麻吕。以此三人为轴心，栩栩如生的再现了生活在那个时代中人们展开的爱憎，野心和挫折的人类...。大学室友萧青葶、单紫、蔚蓝、橙橙，性格迥异却也互补。毕业将至，萧青葶在父亲安排下到一家影视公司实习，遇到了失联多年的儿时好友郑宇，更偶然被调到制作部，见到了仰慕已久的名编剧慕容轩，开启了自己的编剧梦。外貌出众的单紫精挑细选出几家大公司，投简历、面试，但却因为一次简单的客串，凭借自身完美的外形以及在镜头前自然的表演，引起了经济公司的关注，对于这样的人生转折，向来有主见的单紫也有些不知所措了；家境优越的蔚蓝准备用几年时间独自遍游全国，在偶遇几位支教志愿者之后，跟随他们走进了大山；成绩相当优异的橙橙则宣布了一个让人跌破眼镜的决定，她放弃了所学专业，想要成为一名真正的芭蕾舞演员。。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
