女孩凯莉亚在父亲工作的油棕园救出一只小婆罗洲猩猩；同时，开发商大举侵占丛林，使原住民流离失所，凯莉亚的表弟也为避祸前来同住。在一次争执后，表弟带着小猩猩负气离开，为了找回家人，凯莉亚决定冒险进入丛林。但在深处等待她的，不只有未知的危险与挑战、被都市人淡忘的信仰与习俗，还有家族中一段从未被揭开的记忆。。The TARDIS lands in London on Christmas Eve, 1851 and almost immediately the Doctor hears his name being called.
