这是第二次世界大战之后，导演黑泽明的第一部电影．以战时曾经引起轩然大波的京都大学教授龙川事件，鸠山文化部大臣军阀主义的盛行，而将鼓吹自由主义的京都帝国大学教授龙川开除，当时遭到京都帝国大学上下一致的反对。此外并以卓鲁格国际间碟事件做为背景，描写女主角幸枝于战争中所遭遇的种种，进而批判战争以及当时盛行的法西斯主义。片中后段描写决定独立的幸枝所遭遇的苦难，她跟随野毛之后，初尝爱情的幸福滋味，但好景不长，野毛由于暗地从事反战运动而终生入狱，幸枝也因此每天被特务逼问受尽屈辱。而担任此案件的检察官竟是当年的同学系川。幸枝被释放之后，回到野毛所深爱的故乡，与野毛的双亲一起渡日。日本在战败后，民主主义盛行，八木原教授又回到学校中，幸枝则决定从事农村文化运动。片中的幸枝并非日本过去的传统女性，而是经过战争及战争后的混乱期，终于找到自我，忠于自已意志的新时代女性。。Two estranged brothers come together and discover old family secrets after inheriting their grandfather's property. As their friends start to go missing, they fear they are being stalked by a creature lurking in the shadows.。Two gangsters are given 72 hours to discover the whereabouts of a stash of drug money stolen by their boss. There's only one problem...they just murdered him. Frantic to find the cash, the hapless criminals kidnap a psychic medium and force her to contact the dead gang boss.
